Kids will delight at the exciting chase sequences and dog antics. But the film will resonate most with adults, who can appreciate its many levels and message about the precious adventures in life.

Depending on what you think of Cars, Pixar makes it either 9½ out of 10 or 10 for 10 with Up, a captivating odd-couple adventure that becomes funnier and more exciting as it flies along.

The first 10 minutes of Up are flawless; the final 80 minutes, close enough.

Winsome, touching and arguably the funniest Pixar effort ever, the gorgeously rendered, high-flying adventure is a tidy 90-minute distillation of all the signature touches that came before it.

It's Pixar, a studio that makes producing brilliant movies look simple, so right off the bat we expected an adorable, feel-good film with easy laughs and stunning eye-candy graphics. Up goes, well, above and beyond.

Pixar Grows Waaaay Up
Posted on 2007-06-12 by reelz
Pixar's core demographic may skew a little older than usual come 2009.
According to Variety, Pixar announced their next project, titled Up. The story centers around a 70-year-old man who joins a park ranger in an epic battle against an array of evil villains and monsters.
Peter Doctor (Monsters, Inc.) is set to direct with Pixar regular Bob Peterson on as co-director.
The announcement fills the gap for a full slate of Pixar projects through 2010. Next summer will see the release of Wall-E, about a young robot searching for home sweet home in the vastness of outer space, while 2010 brings the return of Buzz Lightyear, Woody and Co. with Toy Story 3.

Posted on 2008-12-16 by reelzAfter the phenomenal success of Wall-E, a film many believe could garner a Best Picture Oscar nomination, Disney/Pixar is bound to take a step back with their next release, right? Not so fast. Reportedly, sneak previews of footage from Up, their latest computer-animated dazzler, have sparked mass hysterics on par with your average Robert Pattinson sighting. What's all the buzz about? See for yourself:
Which Super Movies Will Have Spots at the Superbowl?
Posted on 2009-01-09 by reelzA report at Variety lists which movie trailers we'll be seeing at this year's Superbowl.
Confirmed for this year's roster are high-profile titles like Paramount's Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, Star Trek and G.I. Joe; Sony's Angels & Demons; DreamWorks Animation's Monsters vs. Aliens; and Universal's Land of the Lost and its fourth installment in The Fast and the Furious franchise. Disney is also planning to use the game to raise the profile for Pixar's next toon, Up, while a Wolverine spot is likely from Fox.
As of this report, warring studios Fox and Warner Bros. haven yet bought space. This is an interesting development since both have some big titles being produced in 2009 such as Watchmen, Wolverine, Night at the Museum 2, Terminator Salvation, and Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince to name but a few.
One has to wonder if the much-publicized legal dispute between the studios is having some effect on their ability to buy advertising.
Keep it right here, where we'll have the Superbowl trailers and highlights when available.
